Dune Rider Hopper vs Scraper: Parakite Specs and Wind Ranges

Quick answer: Dune Rider is a Dutch parakite brand with two wings. The Hopper is its all-round parakite with "accessible performance" (16, 19 and 24 m², AR 6.2–6.5, 52 cells). The Scraper is its high-performance wing (12, 16 and 20 m², AR 6.2–7.0, 58 cells). Both are shock and load tested to EN 926-1 only. Dune Rider publishes a reference wind range for every size.

    About Dune Rider

Dune Rider says its parakites are "made for and developed on the dunes". Brand owner and product designer Bryan van Ostheim leads development with a team of test pilots and riders, and the brand says it designs, develops and refines its wings directly at the dunes.

    Dune Rider Hopper – all-round

Dune Rider describes the Hopper as its all-round parakite, offering "a forgiving foundation for newer pilots and limitless progression for the seasoned flyer". It took the Scraper's design and tuned it for easier inflation, stall behaviour, stability and feel.

Dune Rider Scraper – high performance

Dune Rider calls the Scraper its "ultimate high-performance parakite". It says the Scraper's roll has been maximised with a unique wingtip airfoil and an arc shape with passive-defined wingtips, and that it's designed for steep dives with strong energy retention.
