The Pilot
While its comfort and accessibility exceed typical standards in this category, the F*Race2 is not recommended as a first pod harness. That said, you don’t need to be competing in the X-Alps to fly it. Its overall comfort and durability make it an excellent everyday option for pilots seeking a compact hike & fly setup—ideal for accessing remote launch sites or for lightweight, convenient travel with a harness fully capable of XC performance.
Though impressively durable for its class, the F*Race2 is a lightweight harness and should be handled with the same care and attention you would give your light wings.

The FRace2* has been developed with Ozone’s most experienced and demanding team of pilots. After a successful round of testing with pre-series models in sizes M and L, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—pilots love the blend of weight-saving design, solid structure, and comfort that holds up during long flights in remote terrain.
The Tech
The F*Race 2 features an innovative structure built around an ergonomic Dyneema pattern, engineered to provide anatomical support. This same harness structure carried Damien Lacaze on the longest flight in X-Alps history—over 11 hours—earning high praise for its comfort and performance.
Both pod sides include large, easy-access pockets for storing cameras and gear. A spacious rear compartment consists of a hydration bladder sleeve and pole stowage, while an additional large compartment sits beneath the seat. The cockpit pocket is well-suited for storing batteries, and the removable cockpit accommodates larger instruments. It can also be connected to a chest pocket for added in-flight storage.

Safety and Certification
The front-mounted reserve compartment is seamlessly integrated, featuring an easily accessible deployment handle, with rescue bridles connected directly at the shoulders for optimal safety.
The F*Race 2 introduces a new inflatable protection system with an innovative compartmented internal design, offering improved impact efficiency. It’s also fast and practical to set up—an essential feature when every second matters in hike & fly races. The system can be inflated quickly using a new 50-gram pump or with the included inflation bag. A dump valve allows for rapid deflation, and an accessible in-flight inflation tube adds further convenience.
The F*Race 2 is certified to the EN 1651:2018 standard for pilots up to 110 kg. Its inflatable protector extends from the thighs to above the lumbar region and delivers a peak impact rating of under 32 g.
In Flight
Clip-in is quick and intuitive, with one fixed leg strap that also functions as an anti-forget system. There are just four closure steps, including the optional upper-chest strap. The harness's flexible structure allows for easy ground handling and greater mobility during challenging take-offs. Strategically placed EVA foam and reinforcements help eliminate pressure points for enhanced comfort.
In the air, the weight-shift control is responsive yet balanced, and the stabilising system—with an optional adjustable ABS—adds comfort in turbulent conditions. A large rear fairing and streamlined pod contribute to improved glide performance and in-flight stability.

This is the logical evolution of the version I flew during the X-Alps 2023. More comfortable, more durable, more sophisticated. I've been pushing a lot of feedback to the R&D team for details that are important to me, and I'm happy they have listened to it.
Easy to clip-in: You can use it as hike and fly racing harness, a volbiv or an everyday harness. Personally, I leave all the buckles closed and put it on to save time during races. But you can keep the classic method.
The removable large cockpit with a chest pocket is a real plus and means you can leave your instruments attached to it and take the whole thing with you (for charging all up for instance). The chest pocket will easily accommodate the power bank and food for the flight.
The deflation of the airbag is now also very fast thanks to an additional high-flow valve (inflation is of course very fast too). And an external pipe allows to adjust pressure in flight, should you need it.
Comfort is really incredible for a harness this weight, thanks to the ergonomic design of the seat and the rigidity of the back. I flew in it for 11 hours without feeling the slightest discomfort. A harness for "almost" everything!
