The Ultralite X (ULX) is a speed-focused miniwing developed from the innovative Ultralite 5 platform. With smaller sizes and R3X-style trimmers, it is designed for intermediate to advanced speed pilots who want a combination of glide, speed, roll response, and stability.

Its speed-specific riser design allows for highly accurate rear-riser control, setting it apart from many miniwing designs that rely more heavily on speed bar instead of trimmers. The new 11m size blends the agility of a speedwing with the glide performance of a miniwing, making it one of the smallest, most dynamic, responsive, and stable miniwings available.

The Pilot

The ULX brings together light weight and strong performance, making it an excellent option for high-performance soaring and hike-and-fly adventures. Pilots choosing the smaller sizes should be experienced speed flyers, and across the range, pilots need to be comfortable using the risers for pitch and roll control to get the most from the wing.

The Tech

At the heart of the Ultralite X is Ozone’s SharkNose technology, which helps provide short take-offs in technical terrain and improved overhead stability at higher speeds.

Built with Dominico N10D canopy fabric, the ULX keeps pack weight to a minimum. A pulley-riser system combined with improved weight-shift characteristics gives the wing a high level of precision and control in flight.

The LITE Legacy

Over two decades of lightweight glider development at Ozone have seen their ultra-light wings launch from the summit of Everest, compete in every edition of the X-Alps, and set vol-biv distance records around the world. The ULX builds on that legacy in a compact, high-performance miniwing that combines Ozone’s Speed category with its highest-performing broadscale glider technology.

Specifications

The Ultralite X is available in 11, 13, 15, and 17 sizes, with 34 cells across the range. Glider weight starts at 1.67 kg in the 11m and goes up to 2.17 kg in the 17m. The in-flight weight range is listed as 55–90 kg for all sizes.
