Quick answer: French brand LittleCloud makes three wings for parakiting: La Mouette (intermediate, 2024), the Puffin V2 (a dune-soaring wing sold as a mini wing or as a parakite) and the Fregate (performance, for experienced pilots). LittleCloud also sells KiteRisers, which can convert many of its existing wings into parakites. Its wings are load-tested only, with no EN or LTF flight certification.
About LittleCloud
LittleCloud was formed in France in 2009, after founder and designer Tom, a former kite designer, made his first flights in 2008. LittleCloud says it builds more than 40 prototypes a year. It deliberately doesn't seek EN or LTF flight certification for its wings and publishes test videos instead. All its wings since 2014 can be converted to parakites with KiteRisers.
LittleCloud La Mouette – intermediate parakite
La Mouette ("the seagull") launched in May 2024 as a dedicated parakite. LittleCloud says it needs at least some paragliding or mini-wing experience. The range is split into two groups. Sizes 14, 16 and 19 (AR 5.2) are for medium to strong wind, and sizes 22 and 25 (AR 5.9) are for light wind.
| Size | 14 | 16 | 19 | 22 | 25 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flat area (m²) | 14 | 16 | 19 | 22 | 25 |
| Flat AR | 5.2 | 5.2 | 5.25 | 5.9 | 5.9 |
| Cells | 40 | 40 | 40 | 49 | 49 |
| Weight (kg) | 3.15 | 3.4 | 3.7 | 3.85 | 4.1 |
| All-up weight (kg) | 55–120 | 55–120 | 55–120 | 60–120 | 75–120 |
Materials (per LittleCloud): Dominico 20D cloth (20D/10D on sizes 22 and 25), Porcher 32 g hard-finish ribs, and Edelrid lines. LittleCloud lists a progressive reflex profile, semi-closed cells and sheathed lines.
LittleCloud Puffin V2 – dune soaring wing
LittleCloud developed the original Puffin with the Dutch dune-soaring community. The Puffin V2 is sold with either trim/speed-bar risers (as a standard mini wing) or KiteRisers (as a parakite). LittleCloud says it's "a little more demanding" than La Mouette and recommends mini-wing experience.
| Size | 14 | 16 | 19 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat area (m²) | 14 | 16 | 19 |
| Flat span (m) | 8.6 | 9.3 | 10.8 |
| Flat AR | 5.3 | 5.3 | 5.3 |
| Cells | 49 | 49 | 49 |
| Weight (kg) | 3.1 | 3.4 | 3.7 |
| All-up weight (kg) | 50–120 | 50–120 | 55–120 |
LittleCloud lists trailing-edge "dirtouts" that let sand drain out in flight, and Ronstan Orbit pulleys.
LittleCloud Fregate – performance parakite
The Fregate is LittleCloud's performance parakite for experienced pilots. It comes in 16, 19 and 22 m², all at AR 6.5 with 57 cells, and an all-up weight range of 60–120 kg. LittleCloud says it has the widest wind range and fastest top speed in its range, with new three-pulley KiteRisers, reduced brake pressure and a trailing-edge sand-drainage system. The Fregate manual recommends split-leg harnesses with a carabiner spacing of 41–46 cm.
KiteRisers – convert a wing you already own
KiteRisers replace a wing's standard risers with a pulley system. You change the angle of attack directly with your hands. LittleCloud says they're for soaring only, not for speedflying, acro or paramotoring, and not for pilots without mini-wing experience. Compatibility is model- and size-specific, so check LittleCloud's current compatibility sheet before buying.
Frequently asked questions
Which LittleCloud parakite suits me?
LittleCloud positions La Mouette as the most accessible, the Puffin V2 as slightly more demanding, and the Fregate for experienced pilots.
Are LittleCloud wings certified?
No. LittleCloud does load tests only and doesn't seek EN or LTF flight certification. What EN 926-1 means.
How do I choose a size?
LittleCloud's Fregate manual uses wing loading (all-up weight divided by flat area): 3–4 kg/m² behaves like a regular paraglider, 4–6.5 like a mini wing, and above 6.5 is for experienced pilots only. See our parakite size guide.
Can I thermal a LittleCloud parakite?
LittleCloud strongly discourages it. Check the model's manual for its operating limits.
How does LittleCloud compare with other brands?
