One of the first questions we get about the Ozone Vapor is "what size do I need?" Fair question – Ozone has released the Vapor in seven sizes, from a tiny 11 m² to a big 25 m², and unlike a normal paraglider there's no certified pilot weight range printed on the label. That's deliberate, and once you understand why, picking the right size gets a lot easier.
Why there's no weight range on a parakite
A paraglider is sized to carry you in the air at a sensible wing loading. A parakite does that too, but it also has to work on the ground – kiting up a dune, holding you against a stiff sea breeze, snapping up in light air – and it flies across a much wider band of wind speeds. The right size depends as much on where you fly and how much wind you fly in as it does on what you weigh, plus your skill level and how dynamic you want the wing to feel. So Ozone leaves sizing to its dealers rather than a table. That's us. Read the guide below, then get in touch and we'll confirm the size for you before your deposit locks it in.
The seven Vapor sizes at a glance

Every size shares the same 55-cell layout, Full BST internal structure and EN 926-1 certification. What changes is area, span and how much grunt the wing produces at a given wind speed. Glider weight runs from 3.2 kg on the 11 up to 5.6 kg on the 25.
Size by size – who each one suits
Vapor 11 and 13 – expert speed-flying wings
These two are a different animal. Ozone classes the 11 and 13 as speed-flying wings and restricts them to expert pilots regardless of pilot weight. Think steep mountain descents, strong-wind dune sessions and pilots who already have a lot of mini-wing or speed-flying time. If you have to ask whether you're ready for an 11, the answer is a bigger size for now.
Vapor 15 – small, fast and playful
The 15 is the smallest size Ozone puts in the general-use category. It suits lighter pilots who want a dynamic, quick-turning wing, and heavier experienced pilots who fly in consistently strong wind and want maximum agility. It projects only 12.6 m², so it needs wind or speed to work – it's not the size for a light-air valley cruise.
Vapor 17.5 – the all-rounder for lighter and mid-weight pilots
This is where most lighter-to-average pilots will land. The 17.5 balances take-off ease, dive and control across a broad wind range and is the size Ozone uses in most of its launch imagery. If you're a mid-weight pilot who flies a mix of coast and inland and wants one wing that does it all, start your conversation here.
Vapor 20 – the sweet spot for average-to-heavier pilots
The 20 gives average and heavier pilots the same easy, forgiving character the 17.5 gives lighter ones, with more float in lighter conditions and more lift for early-morning or inland flying. It's also the size Ozone's own "go one size up" advice tends to point people toward when they'd normally reach for a 17.5 and want extra comfort.
Vapor 22.5 – bigger pilots, lighter wind, more comfort
For heavier pilots, or anyone who prioritises easy launches and a calm, paraglider-like feel over snappy dives, the 22.5 is the pick. It's the largest size we're stocking for launch and the one we'd suggest for pilots stepping across from a mid-size paraglider who want a gentle introduction to parakiting.
Vapor 25 – the big wing
The 25 sits at the top of the range for the heaviest pilots and the lightest conditions. We're not carrying it in launch stock, but it can be ordered – talk to us if you think you need it.
Ozone's own sizing tip: go one size up
Ozone's advice for the Vapor is simple: choose one size larger than you normally would for more comfort. A slightly bigger Vapor launches more easily, flies more calmly near the neutral point and still dives hard when you ask it to. Unless you're specifically chasing the most dynamic feel you can get, size up.
Three questions that decide your size
- What do you weigh, all up? You, your harness, your kit. Heavier pilots move up a size.
- Where and in what wind do you fly most? Strong coastal wind and dunes push you smaller. Inland, lighter air, early-morning sessions and mountain descents push you bigger.
- How much experience do you have on mini-wings or speed wings? The less you have, the more you should size up. The 11 and 13 are expert-only, full stop.
Sizing for the Atak 2 harness
If you're adding the Ozone Atak 2 harness to your pre-order, that one is sized by height rather than weight: M fits pilots 160–185 cm and L fits 180–200 cm. Both are EN 1651 certified to 120 kg. If you're right on the 180–185 cm overlap, tell us your build and we'll steer you to the better fit.
Not sure? That's what we're here for
Send us your height, all-up weight, where you fly and what you've flown before, and we'll tell you which Vapor size to put your deposit on. The Vapor is available now for pre-order with a $99 deposit in sizes 11, 13, 15, 17.5, 20 and 22.5, in T/W (teal/white) or X/W (pink/white), with the Atak 2 harness as an optional package – and your deposit secures launch stock while it lasts.
